On the Brazil- USA Connect trip, we can guarantee you a unique cultural experience. Not only will you be discovering the land and culture of Israel, you will also meet and travel with participants from North America, Brazil and Israel. Together you will see, discover, taste, learn, and travel through Israel’s different landscapes.  You’ll climb Masada at sunrise; float in the Dead Sea; get that camel selfie you’ve been dreaming of; hike in the lush, green north; taste the best falafel of your life, wander the streets and dance the night away in Tel Aviv; experience the spirituality of Jerusalem and return home with new friends from all over the world. After this Birthright Israel trip, you definitely won't have to couch surf on your next vacation!

You’ll get to experience different cultures and loads of diversity on and off the bus and create lasting friendships that span the globe. You’ll see Israel through the eyes of Israelis and also experience what it means to be Jewish (or Jew-ish) in different parts of the world. Sample Itinerary

DAY 1-2
HIGHLIGHTS DAY 1-2

Arrive at Ben-Gurion International Airport. You will be met and assisted through customs by IsraelExperts staff and will meet your Israeli tour guide and driver who will be with you throughout your tour.

Go through orientation: Take some time to get to know your fellow participants, staff, and guide while preparing for the 10-day journey ahead of you.

Hike the Nahal Amud Nature Reserve, also known as the Wadi Amud, a stream in the Upper Galilee that spills into the Sea of Galilee.

Explore Tzfat - the ancient and modern home of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism). Tour ancient synagogues and artists’ quarters.

DAY 3-4
HIGHLIGHTS DAY 3

Participate in a unique coexistence seminar in the Arab village of Jisr Al Zarqa or at one of our other partnering programs.

Explore Jaffa, one of the world's ancient ports. Modern Jaffa has a heterogeneous population of Muslims, Christians and Jews. Jaffa is a major tourist site with an exciting combination of old and new. You may have time to explore the local flea market called Shuk Hapishpeshim for all kinds of hidden treasures (and delicious things to eat).

Enjoy a night out in Tel Aviv in an area full of trendy restaurants, bars, clubs, cafes and shops.

Mifgash ("Encounter") Begins. Today you will be joined by 8 young Israelis who will be traveling with you for the next 5 days. You will have the privilege to explore Israel through their eyes (and they through yours) and to forge new and lasting friendships.

Visit Rabin Square ("Kikar Rabin" in Hebrew); a large public city square in central Tel Aviv, named after Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated at the conclusion of a massive peace rally held at the square on November 4, 1995.

Visit Independence Hall where David Ben-Gurion proclaimed Israel's Independence in 1948.

Stroll down the trendy area of Nachalat Binyamin and the neighboring market "Shuk HaCarmel", where you can find many cafes, shops and unique gifts.

Arrive at your kibbutz in time to prepare for Kabbalat Shabbat (greeting of Shabbat) and candle lighting followed by Shabbat dinner. Participate in “Oneg Shabbat” (Shabbat Pleasure) program.

DAY 5-6
HIGHLIGHTS DAY 5-6

Spend Shabbat relaxing with your group with various programming and free time at the hotel

Engage in the “Changing Map of the Middle East” activity which focuses on the political and historical background that led to the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, and the current geo-political situation in the Middle East.

Take part in the Havdalla ceremony, ending the Shabbat and welcoming the new week.

Get to know your Mifgash Israelis by partaking in a special activity they have prepared for you.

Learn about the city of Sderot and the resilience of the residents living there.

Visit the Ayalim student village in Sderot.

Spend the night at a Desert Experience. Start the adventure riding camel-back as the sun sets over the desert. Partake in a light taste of Bedouin tradition and culture including a welcome ceremony of coffee and tea followed by a Middle-Eastern dinner served in the traditional style seated on rugs and pillows in a Bedouin style tent. Accommodation is in a mock up of a traditional Bedouin tent. At night, enjoy a group gathering around an Israeli style bonfire and take a night hike.

DAY 7-8
HIGHLIGHTS DAY 7-8

Climb Masada via the earthen Roman ramp built 2000 years ago to storm this desert fortress and view the remarkable excavations including Herod's Palace and stables, the ancient synagogue and the ancient water system.

Enjoy time relaxing at and floating in the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth.

First arriving at Jerusalem, stop at Har HaTzofim (Mount Scopus) viewpoint to say Shehechiyanu and enjoy the stunning view of the old city.

Visit Mount Herzl, Israel's military cemetery and the burial place of Yitzhak Rabin, Golda Meir and Theodore Herzl.

Farewell for Israelis – End of Mifgash.

DAY 9-10
HIGHLIGHTS DAY 9-10

Visit Yad Vashem, Israel's national memorial to the Holocaust. The museum presents the historic events that befell Europe following the Nazis’ rise to power in Germany and the fate of the Jews under Nazi rule in the occupied countries.

Visit Mahane Yehuda, Jerusalem’s largest "shuk" (outdoor market), where you can find many different people and wares.

Spend the night out on Jerusalem's vibrant pedestrian mall, Ben Yehudah Street. Enjoy the open-air mall (a.k.a. 'Ha Midrechov') with its pubs, shops, and restaurants with plenty of live music.

Tour the Old City of Jerusalem. Visit the Jewish quarter and be witness to millennia of Jewish history, from the time of biblical kings and prophets to modern celebrations and conflicts. Walk to the Cardo, the street built by the Romans in the sixth century, situated 20 feet below modern street level. One part of the Cardo is a restored arcade of Jewish galleries and shops, while the other part is an open-air reconstructed street. Take time for personal prayer and reflection at the Western Wall (Kotel).

Bring your trip to a close with a wrap-up session where you'll reflect back on your Birthright Israel experience.

Travel to Ben Gurion International Airport for check-in and flight back home.
